Looking Up

Today started off with math on Time4Learning while I took my shower.  He is still early enough in that he doesn’t really need my help or direction while doing math so that is handy.

After math we learned about how ancient Chinese used pictograms and saw what a few of those looked like.  Both kids were a little confused by the pictogram for water because they thought it didn’t look like water at all.  I can’t really blame them though, I didn’t really see the resemblance either.

With history covered we read about the sky!  BK was very interested in drawing what the sky looked like out back and ended up drawing three different pictures an hour apart to compare them.  They are pictured below in order.  The top one shows snowflakes with  the sun low in the trees. The second one shows clouds but with the sun higher in the trees.  The the third one shows that it was just cloudy and there was no sun visible! Not too shabby!

We also read more from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory today, chapters 25 and 26.  Not much left now!  The kids are SO excited to watch the movie on Friday afternoon once we finish the book.  They simply can’t wait!
